Justin Bieber: “I'd love to play Oliver Twist"

With his humble beginnings, Justin Bieber is confident that he is fit to play Oliver Twist as he could relate to the challenges faced by Charles Dicken’s street urchin.

The teen sensation has expressed his interest to play the lead role for the remake of the film. ‘Oliver’.

According to Aceshowbiz, Bieber strongly believes that the hardships he and his mom had to deal with when he was a kid would help him bring to life the character of Oliver Twist.

The “Baby” hitmaker emphasized that he understood what Oliver Twist in the 1968 British musical film must have felt like and therefore he could be the best to portray the character.

Describing the teen sensation’s childhood, Aceshowbiz looked back to where he was raised noting that a basement council flat in Canada was what Justin Bieber had to call his home with his reformed junkie mother after his father left both of them.

"That place was really dirty. We had mousetraps everywhere because here were mouses, uh, mice, in the house. I didn't have a real bed. I slept on a blue pull-out couch in my room," Bieber said describing what it was like as a child living in a destitute place before he became world teen sensation.

The Canadian teen singer added, "We didn't have anything in the fridge, except maybe luncheon meat for school and macaroni and cheese. I'd love to play Oliver Twist".

The pop star knows exactly what to prepare for should he get the part : his accent. Bieber admitted that he needs more practice to have a perfectly sounding English accent.

Bieber said, “I can do it a little bit but I’m not amazing at it. When I try it, it sometimes comes out a bit Australian.”

This is not the first acting stint for the popular singer. Bieber first appeared on a cameo role for "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" which had received positive reviews.

A separate report from the IBTimes showed that Bieber was even praised by his co-star at the popular television series, George Eads who said that he has great future in acting’. Click here to view the full report.

Bieber appeared in two episodes of CSI before his a self documentary titled "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never" launched in February.

He could act. He could sing. But the teen singer has slightly only one little problem to get the role: his age. Bieber is seven years older than Oliver in the Oscar and Golden Globe 1969-movie.
