Miley Cyrus apparently has enough troubles of her own to get involved with those of her good friend Christina Aguilera. On Tuesday, the world learned that Aguilera was arrested on charges of suspicion of public intoxication (see unofficially released mug shot on left). But everyone seems more interested in what Miley has to say about the matter than Christina herself.
L.A. Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore tells E! News that Aguilera was "cooperative" and "not belligerent in any way whatsoever" when she was taken into custody with boyfriend Matthew Rutler. However, shortly after word of Aguilera's arrest surfaced, the media began flocking to Miley Cyrus and her reps for comment.
Cyrus famously backed Aguilera after the singer infamously flubbed the National Anthem at February's Super Bowl. But Cyrus is apparently giving a solid "no comment" on this issue - one that Cyrus can indirectly relate to. Despite having never been busted for suspicion of public intoxication, Miley's much-publicized bong experience sparked a media firestorm from which the young star has not yet recovered.
Miley Cyrus, as it is well documented, is going through a personal family crisis. Just last week, the former Hannah Montana star's father, Billy Ray Cyrus, delved into his daughter's personal problems that are destroying the Cyrus family. Billy Ray Cyrus tells GQ magazine that his daughter may be an adult at age 18, but she is being "handled" to such a degree by her handlers that he can no longer watch over his famous daughter like he once could.
Tonight, however, Miley Cyrus is back in the news at no fault of her own. The world simply wants to know what Miley has to say about her friend Christina Aguilera's arrest. But Cyrus is not talking.
Do you blame her? Or should Miley Cyrus stand by her friend and offer public support?
