Demi Lovato recently stated that her relationship with Joe Jonas is her first serious relationship that she has ever been involved in. It’s hard to imagine that the beautiful singer had never been involved in a serious relationship before, bit it appears to be the case. She attributed her lack of a serious relationship to the fact that she has always been famous, and the individuals that she was dating wanted their privacy.
She went on to say that hiding her relationships has made it hard for her to take the relationship seriously, and be open about it with the public and friends. She said that she was happy that she didn’t “have to worry about keeping it such a secret.”
Lovato is 17, and she is dating Joe Jonas of the Jonas brothers who is 20. The pair met in 2007 when they were on the Disney Channel series Camp Rock. They have denied the fact that they were dating until recently, when they revealed it during a radio interview with Billy Bush.
She said that it was not only scary to reveal her relationship with Joe Jonas to the public, but also to the people that the two of them both have to work with for the next few years. She stated that both of them were very nervous in the beginning to see how the fans and coworkers would react to the news that they were dating.
Lovato said that initially they were not romantically interested in one another, and were just very close friends.
“We’ve always had an incredible bond, an incredible friendship,” she said in the interview. “He knows me better than I know myself, and I know him better than he knows himself.”
