Teen pop stars the Jonas Brothers have helped raise a quarter million dollars at the ‘Rock for Diabetes’ event earlier this month, according to an article from Diabetes Health. The funds went to the Center for Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.
More than 200 people attended the event at the house of Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman in which the The Jonas Brothers held a special concert. Nick Jonas, the youngest member of the group, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes a few years ago.
Since that time, the group, and specifically Nick, has worked hard to raise awareness for the disease. Nick has spoken on Capitol Hill as well as performed at several charity events. He also has his own foundation. In addition, diabetes was the inspiration for the band’s 2008 hit A Little Bit Longer.
