Twitter one of the fastest growing social networking sites, is now home to not just the everyday person but the likes of the celeb world. Many a time, we have seen celebrities taking to their Twitter accounts and voicing their disapproval or sharing their good news with the rest of the world, celebrities such as cricketer Damien Martyn or F1 racing driver Lewis Hamilton. Today, it is the turn of one of Twitter’s most popular stars Justin Bieber.
Throughout this year, Bieber has used the site on a number of occasions to tell his fans of up and coming singles, albums and tour dates, sending best wishes or words of sympathy to fellow celebs. With the Christmas spirit high in the air and a time to think about those who are less fortunate then ourselves, Justin Bieber has announced that some of his proceeds from his new album “My World” will be donated to an American children’s hospital.
The Acoustic album will be released tomorrow, and reports have said that the young singing sensation has teamed up with the Children’s Miracle Network Charity, and will hand over the cash proceeds from the album. Entertainment Wise has reported that Bieber has tweeted, “I am in the position to give back thanks to my fans and God. I wrote (track) Pray thinking I wanted to help others and I feel like I have a responsibility to do so. What is the point of doing all this if you can’t make a difference in others’ lives? This album is a gift to my fans and the money raised from it allows us all to help out.”
What do you think about Bieber’s kind gesture to charity? Do you think more celebs should delve into their pockets to help worthy causes?
