Les Miserables Anniversary Concert (Featuring Lea Salonga, Nick Jonas & More) to be Broadcast in U.S. Movie Theaters



The 25th anniversary concert of Les Miserables, which took place in London on October 3 at the O2 arena, will screen at movie theaters across the US on November 17. The screening will play in nearly 500 cities across the country. The event is presented by NCH Fathom, Omniverse Vision and Cameron Mackintosh in association with the Broadway League and Nederlander/First.

The starry anniversary concert featured British tenor Alfie Boe as Jean Valjean, American pop star Nick Jonas as Marius, Broadway favorite Norm Lewis as Javert, British comedian Matt Lucas as Thénardier, Tony winner Lea Salonga as Fantine, Les Miz vet Jenny Galloway as Madame Thénardier and Camilla Kerslake as Cosette. The casts of the original London production (still playing at the Queen’s Theatre) and the cast of the New 25th Anniversary Production were also on hand.

Seen by over 56 million people worldwide in 42 countries and in 21 languages, Cameron Mackintosh’s production of Les Miserables features music by Claude-Michel Schönberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer and original French text by Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel and additional material by James Fenton. The original London 1985 production was adapted and directed by Trevor Nunn and John Caird. The New 25th Anniversary production and the O2 Concert are directed by Laurence Connor and James Powell and designed by Matt Kinley.
