Taylor Swift's 'Adventures and Misadventures' In the Past Two Years

Taylor Swift is ready to release her new album, 'Speak Now,' but hasn't said much about her 'Innocent' performance until now.

In a recent interview, the 20-year-old country star explained that the appearance had a therapeutic effect on her.

"For me, I felt like performing [at the] VMAs was the best way to go out there and sing how I was actually feeling; being there really helped put all that behind me," Taylor told Fox News at the annual All for the Hall concert in Los Angeles, California last week.

Taylor is no stranger to infusing her personal feelings into her song lyrics. Her last album, 'Fearless,' came out in 2008 and was laced with emotionally charged songs. And since then, she confessed that things haven't always been so great. Did Kanye West's infamous VMA interruption have anything to do with that? Maybe. But one thing's for sure, she's using her new album as a way to vent.

"I've written all the songs on it about things that have happened over the last two years, and a lot has happened over the last two years. It's been every eventful, a lot of adventures and misadventures," Taylor said. "I have a lot fun doing this and getting to write songs about what happens in my life, but putting it all out there in your music -- all the details -- you're taking a chance with that because you are very vulnerable."

But that's not a complaint from the star -- she's just taking everything in stride. Now that you know how personal 'Speak Now' is to Taylor, are you more or less excited to hear it?
