Our second Cambio Cohost contest winner, Lani Riley, recently got the opportunity of a lifetime, she got to interview Nick Jonas! She sent us these great pictures and a recap of her day:
On Monday afternoon, I got a call from Bernadette from Cambio saying that I was going to interview Nick Jonas the next day in New York. I’ve been a huge fan of the Jonas Brothers for years, so naturally I was shocked and thrilled! I left my home in Massachusetts that night with my parents and my friend, Allie, to stay at a hotel in Connecticut. We planned to take a train into the city early Tuesday.
We arrived in New York City at around noon. It was so cold, but we still had a great time walking around the city. At 3, I met up with Naomi and Elise, the people from Cambio who walked me through everything and filmed my day. We filmed an intro for Cambio in Times Square, then went into the MTV studios. Doing the intro was really nerve-wracking, and I messed up a lot because I was thinking about the day ahead, but I finally got through it!
We met up with Kurt from MTV who led us to our green room. Shortly after, I got to meet Kevin Manno from MTV’s “The Seven”, and interviewed him. He was really nice and made for a great first interview! Kevin answered my questions about what it’s like to work on “The Seven”, and he gave me advice on how to interview celebrities like Nick Jonas. I was starting to feel better about interviewing after that, but I was still anxious for my interview with Nick.
After filming with Kevin, my friend and I sat in the audience for the taping of “The Seven”. There were so many fans in the studio and waiting outside to see Nick Jonas! The show was great and I made sure to pay close attention to how Kevin was interviewing Nick. Immediately after “The Seven” ended, my friend and I were taken back to our green room.
While everyone was trying to figure out when Nick was going to arrive for my interview with him, hardly anyone noticed that he had already walked in the door! I was so excited as we sat down to do our interview. After we started, I was hardly nervous anymore because Nick was so nice and made me feel really comfortable. When we wrapped up the interview, Nick told me I did well and I got some pictures and autographs from him. We talked some more before he had to go, and I made sure to give him lots of hugs.
Nick was really friendly and polite, and I’m so glad I had the chance to interview him. After he left, I met up with Kevin again and he gave me a tour of the MTV studios. I also did a follow-up interview with him on the set of “The Seven” before I left. The whole experience was such a dream come true, and I still can’t believe it happened. Of course, I owe it to Cambio for making it come together! I really will never forget that day. Thank you so much Cambio!
