Selena Gomez is excited about her new movie Monte Carlo

Selena Gomez is excited about her new movie Monte Carlo and ready to move on from her Disney TV show Wizards of Waverly Place. Can Monte Carlo launch Selena Gomez into super stardom?

As most of you know this is Selena Gomez's last season on the show Wizards of Waverly Place. She is thankful for what the show has done for her but she is ready to move on and really start her movie career in a serious way.

The movie is a romantic comedy that stars Gomez, Katie Cassidy and Leighton Meester. The three of them go to Paris looking for fun but things end up being a disaster. The film is set to be open on February 11th 2011.

Gomez is now 18 years old and it is time for her to leave Disney behind and move on to bigger and better things. She needs to start taking more mature roles if she has any hope of being a star much longer. Having a bunch of little kids as the majority of your fans can only keep you popular for so long.

With a good performance in Monte Carlo Selena Gomez could solidify her acting career and make the jump to full fledged movie star.

This movie isn't a kid flick either. Originally Nicole Kidman and Julia Roberts were cast for the movie but the producers decided to go with younger actresses. If Nicole Kidman and Julia Roberts were signed on to the film then you know it is going to be a good one.
