Before he was famous: Cheeky Justin Bieber, 9, is the little drummer boy in unearthed video

Teen sensation Justin Bieber has conquered the world of pop, causing a sensation wherever he goes.

But while 16 may seem young to be so successful, the schoolboy's talent was obvious much earlier.

A YouTube video of the then nine-year-old shows his remarkable self-taught ability on the drums.

Bieber, who started playing the drums at two years old, performs a flawless routine, his natural rhythm obvious.

Already evident is his cheeky personality, as he shouts 'yo, yo' and gestures to the camera.
Dressed in a back to front cap and sports shirt, Bieber is self-confident in front of the camera.

The video, filmed by Bieber's mother Pattie Mallette, was posted on the web by his proud grandmother Kate three years ago, at around the time Bieber signed his first record deal.

It was thanks to YouTube that the Canadian teen found fame, after a record producer stumbled
across him performing a series of R & B covers.

In a modern day fairytale Scooter Braun tracked down Bieber by contacting the place he performed, finding the name of his school and eventually finding his mother.

Pattie, who became a mother aged 18, and her talented son flew to Atlanta to record demo tapes.

He met Usher who arranged a record deal with Island Records, and it wasn't long before Bieber had a devoted following.

The My World singer has just dueted with Will Smith's son Jaden for the Karate Kid single, and spent last weekend filming in the Bahamas with self-confessed fan Kim Kardashian, filming together
