While the 'Baby' singer will raise awareness over the Gulf of Mexico oil spill through the special two-hour edition of Larry King Live, Lady GaGa joins other A-listers in boycotting fuel sold by BP.
Justin Bieber has offered his support for the victims of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. The "Baby" hitmaker has joined a list of celebrities, including Cameron Diaz, Randy Jackson, Ian Somerhalder, Tim McGraw and Alyssa Milano, who is taking part on a two-hour telethon dubbed "Disaster in the Gulf: How You Can Help".
This special two-hour edition of "Larry King Live" will be aired on CNN on Monday night, June 21 at 8 P.M. EDT (midnight GMT). Guests will talk to host Larry King on set and by satellite, in addition to taking viewer calls for donations at the phone banks. Sting will perform, while Ryan Seacrest will host an online suite for viewers participating via Facebook and Twitter.
Money raised from the telethon will benefit the United Way, the National Wildlife Federation and the Nature Conservancy, relief organizations that are at the forefront helping families, individuals and wildlife affected by the gusher.
In a related news to the oil spill disaster, Lady GaGa has joined the growing group of protesters against British Petroleum. In a statement released by Korn's Jonathan Davis on Friday, June 18, the "Bad Romance" singer has agreed not to use fuel sold by BP or their affiliates on their tours this year. Creed and the Backstreet Boys have been named among those vowing not to use BP as well.
Korn have launched the boycott against the oil company earlier this month. We need to do our part to let BP know there are consequences for causing something like this," lead singer Jonathan explained. "We want to send a message to corporations like BP so that they will take more preventative measures in the future."
