Favorite Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are set to perform at Pop-Con at Nassau Coliseum in New York on Saturday. Although the two are set to perform separate sets, Gomez hasn't ruled out the possibility of taking the stage together to try out a duet or two.
"I'm excited. We would love to. We're trying to work it out," Gomez, who will be performing with her band The Scene, told MTV News. "We don't know yet. We're still trying to figure out if we're going to do something together onstage. [It] might be a surprise, but as far as co-headlining — I don't know. I'm sure he's much bigger. [It's] probably his show — I'm just there."
Other performers at Pop-Con will include Push Play, Mercy Mercedes, Care Bears on Fire, Nat and Alex Wolff of the Naked Brothers Band and Sean Kingston. The convention "aims to be the pop event with the stars the kids want to see." The day will feature other young actors that tweens and teens love as well as industry insiders there to give aspiring performers advice on how to break into show business.
But Bieber and Gomez have met before — they both played "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" and Gomez confesses that at this point they are such good friends, he almost feels like family.
"I love Justin. When he first started to come over from Canada his manager contacted me and he just said that he would like to meet me and he was just such a good kid," she explained. "And I feel like a big sister now, 'cause I want to protect him. So I'm always very cautious with him, but he is so talented and he's so sweet, so that just started us wanting to work together. Now he's just become one of my good friends."
