Justin Bieber and his cameo on CSI wasn’t enough to save the show from hitting a low. The usual audience for a CSI premiere is more than 20 million viewers, however this season’s premiere only managed to get 14.6 million viewers on Thursday, September 23. This isn’t too bad when considered it’s got some tough competition now from the ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, which was able to pull 14 million viewers. The winner of the night was ‘The Mentalist’, which got 15.3 million tuning in.
CSI has, over recent years, undergone a massive change in cast, as well as having a few spin offs released by the team, which would be a drain on the creativity of the writers and their ideas for new and interesting plot lines.
Bieber’s introduction into CSI is based on the show hoping to be able to pull in a different age bracket, as Bieber is a hit with the pre-teen demographic. According to E! Online, CSI rated 2.3 amongst teen girls.
